This project was the renovation and addition to a 100 year old fish camp beach cabin on Whidbey Island, Washington. Embracing the cedar lined primitive form of the original structure, the dilapidated boathouse was converted into a master suite and additional landscape walls and pavilions created a house as a campus. A double height bunkhouse, a renewed storage building and framing walls collectively gathered on a suspended deck table integrated the old with new and house with the site. Durable materials, done on a tight budget, extending vernacular forms created a low maintenance seasonal compound.
